As the weather warms and the days are, finally, getting longer, it’s a sure sign that summer is on its way! While we all enjoy the (mostly) lovely weather that summer brings, the long school holidays can be challenging for working parents, who have to keep their children safe and entertained for the six week stretch.
And, with the cost of living on the rise, parents may be ditching expensive days out in favour of better value activities. Our multi-activity, sport specific and performing arts holiday camps are the perfect way to keep kids happy, healthy and active through the school holiday this summer.
Held at over 350 locations around the country, our camps provide a fantastic and flexible resource for parents during the summer break, and most will run for the duration of the summer holidays, so parents can pick the sessions they want. Children love the variety of the activities and the chance to make new friends. Plus, they’re sure to learn new skills and build confidence day-by-day.
Children from Reception to age 12 are welcome to join our summer camps, with a choice of multi-activity camps, multi-sport camps, performing arts camps or sport specific camps. Run by fully-qualified activity professionals, our camps are all designed to be fully inclusive and focus on encouraging children to discover new sports and activities – and of course, have fun!
If you’re thinking of booking a multi-activity camp, you can expect your children to take part in a mix of games, sports and creative activities. Multi-sport camps give children a taste of a wide range of sports, some of which they may not have had the opportunity to play before; for example, basketball, dodgeball, tennis and cricket – even archery! Our performing arts camps allow children to be expressive through dance, drama and theatre. If your child has a favourite sport, why not choose a sport specific camp, here they get the chance to perfect their skills and try out some different activities within this particular sport.
Our most popular camps are the multi-activity camps, due to the sheer variety of fun-filled activities on offer. However, our specific football and gymnastics camps are very popular too!
The benefit of booking a sport specific camp is that you can be confident that the coach is a specialist in this area, allowing your child to build on what they’ve learnt and develop their abilities – all while making new friends and having fun.
So… you’ve booked the perfect summer holiday camp for your child, and the date is creeping closer – so what do you need to do to get ready? We want to make sure all kids come raring to go and fully prepared, so we’ve put together some top tips:
Please check the weather and make sure your child has the right clothing with them so they can still enjoy all of the activities on offer. So, if it looks like rain, please send a coat (a lightweight waterproof is fine), equally, if it’s sunny, don’t forget a hat!
As well as a hat, we’d always recommend you send your kids with some high factor sunscreen. We love the sun but it can be dangerous. Our activity professionals are great at reminding children to reapply sunscreen throughout the day.
Please send your child with a packed lunch to ensure they have plenty of energy for the whole day. For inspiration on nutritious and delicious lunch ideas, visit our healthy lunch box ideas article.
As these camps are held at the warmest time of year, it’s so important that the children have access to plenty of water, so please make sure they bring a refillable bottle of water with them. This means the children will be able to easily stay hydrated throughout the day.
Unfortunately our camps don’t run 24/7! But we’ve still got you covered with a range of FREE online activities which anyone can do at home – and involve the whole family! With video workouts, physical activity challenges, health & wellbeing activities and life skill lessons our Stay Active Resources allow you to bring Premier Education home after the holiday camp day!
Quite simply, our camps mean your kids have a summer holiday that they won’t forget! Whether they are enjoying the range of activities and sports in a multi-activity camp, learning how to perfect their performance in a performing arts camp, or honing existing skills in a sport specific camp, they will come away feeling confident, engaged, and hopefully with some new friends.
We know that when you book a camp with us you are putting your trust in us to keep your children safe and this isn’t something we take lightly. Our activity professionals are DBS checked and highly-trained, not just in sport and performance art, but also in safeguarding.
Find your nearest summer holiday camp and let the summer fun begin! We look forward to seeing you soon!
