On Monday, 10th August 2020, Prime Minister Boris Johnson joined Premier Education’s Multi-Activity Summer Holiday Camp at Sacred Heart of Mary Girls School in Upminster, Essex.
Observing the social distancing measures in place to safeguard the children and coaches, the Prime Minister cheered on the children during a basketball session and joined in with the group for archery and ‘football cricket’, all under the careful guidance of Premier Education coaches Berty Frith and Scott Dunn.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson was pleased to see first hand the work our activity professionals, who are fully qualified in Infection Prevention Mitigation and Management in a School and Childcare Environment, have done to ensure the safety of everyone in their care.
The 58 children in attendance, grouped into four bubbles, were excited to welcome the VIP guest and encourage him as he joined in with the various activities.
The Prime Minister was hosted by Kevin Holland, Premier Education’s Head of Child Journey and Chris Pipe, Franchisee for Upminster and the surrounding area. On top of supporting schools in term-time, Premier Education’s Holiday Camps play a huge role in ensuring the health and wellbeing of countless children during the school break, particularly important this year after the Covid-19 lockdown has restricted physical activity and social-time since March.
“Holiday Camps provide children with the opportunity to be safe, active and together at a time where they need physical and mental activity – as well as social interaction – more than ever”, comments Kevin, “Naturally, we’re delighted the Premier Education’s holiday camps will positively impact the health and wellbeing of more than 10,500 children in the 6-weeks of the summer holiday”.
